To whom it may concern—
Or rather,to whom it may call.
It is with a measure of reverence and no small amount of strange affection that I offer you this first missive, marking the quiet unveiling of a work long in the making:the Bone Familiar Oracle Deck.
This is not, I should say, a deck meant for parlor games, light fortunes, or idle curiosities. It is not the sort of object that lingers prettily on a shelf or serves as ornament for aesthetic spirituality.
It is a grimoire of grief. A living archive of spirit-bonded creatures born of memory, marrow, and myth. It is, in truth, less a creation than a discovery.
The world, as it emerges from — Coille nan Cnàimh Zansèt — is not fictional. It is simply unseen by most. Those who walk with old grief, dream in symbols, or find themselves drawn to bones, birds, or forgotten paths may already know it by another name.
The familiars who reside there are not figments of imagination, nor are they domesticated cryptids. They are not gentle by design, though some may show mercy. Each one carries a message, a memory, a ritual, and a voice to be heard and encountered through the peculiar alchemy of listening with all six senses.
Some are of the familiars are quite absurd and some are sharp truth-tellers. The deck itself contains fifty-five total entities, each tied to a specific bone and woven with lore, symbolism, and invocations. They don't need invention, they just come, as they are yours, or you are theirs really through a strange kind of spiritual inheritance — or perhaps interference. I, myself, was not so much their author as much as I am their channeled scribe.
This blog shall serve as a place of soft entry. A hedge-line. It will offer reflections, glimpses, and occasional dispatches from within the Coille nan Cnàimh Zansèt — for those who wish to approach it with respect, curiosity, and care.
If you are among them, you are most welcome.
For the familiars have been waiting. Not for your belief. Only for your listening.
With quiet regard,Bodhi
Vessel for the Bone Deck
